INICIATIVA PER BENIMELI, is an Electoral Group taking part in the local elections on th 22^nd of May, with the will to turn Benimeli into a town where information, transparency in decisions and equality flow.

1. FOR AN HONEST MANAGEMENT AND NOT TO WASTE MONEY.

Public money should not be wasted, it should be invested in our town needs and to improve services. Accounts, then, should be clear and public.

2. FOR URBAN GROWTH AND BETTER INFRASTRUCTURES.

To make our town grow, we need better and more modern urban infrastructures.

We’ll care for an accurate maintenance of buildings, facilities, streets and roads, to avoid their deterioration and to let us enjoy a nice town, clean and respectful with its structure and traditional identity.

·         Adaptation of buildings and infrastructures to enable access to disabled.

·         The library should be open to the public and approachable to everybody.

·         The school needs a shady area.

·         It’s not acceptable to use the same place as dinning room and post office.

·         The bar at the swimming pool should be open to the public .

There should be public areas with universal wireless access and WI-FI nets to allow internet connection should be installed.

3. FOR AN IMPROVEMENT IN SOCIAL AND HEALTH ATTENTION.

We’ll take the necessary actions, even go to court if needed, so that inhabitants in our town can enjoy what we consider a right: home care.

The Council will offer transport service for old people who have to go to the Health Centre in Orba early in the morning.

We’ll offer continuous programmes to integrate old people: formative (like computer courses, Spanish for residents, valencià courses, etc, …) and for physical health (fitness). And members of the retirees association, who have been doing leisure and formative activities for so long, will receive subvention to continue with this so valuable task.

Young people deserve an attention they’re not receiving so, formative activities, introduction to the job market, cultural events, reading and theatre workshops will be offered.

4. FOR A SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY ACTIVE TOWN.

We’ll create a job vacancies list to offer equal opportunities to unemployed citizens.

For disabled people we’ll promote integration programmes so that they can take part in our town public life with fair tasks and wages.

We’ll give priority to our town enterprises when assigning works and services.

We’ll do cultural events for citizens and visitors: theatre, concerts, lectures, painting and photograph exhibitions, …

We’ll help any association working for our town and will create a Register of Associations in town.

We’ll create a committee in charge of organising festivities where all entities will be represented.

We’ll constitute an Agricultural Council to give information about grants, formative courses, new types of oranges, …

We’ll promote sport with grants and it’ll be coordinated by the Sports Department in our Council.

5. FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT AS AN ECONOMIC ASSET.

We’ll guarantee respect for our environment and landscape and we’ll promote it as a tourists’ attraction.

We’ll restore and keep natural routes around our town and we’ll establish information points which will include the routes and the services offered ( bars, restaurants, cottages, …)

We’ll promote “The tourism Strategic Plan of La Rectoria” and will improve signals system and net.

6. TO PROMOTE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION.

We’ll inform inhabitants periodically about important facts and decisions.

This information will be found in the Council Web page and we’ll inform through sms, too.

We’ll have a suggestions’ box to collect people’s needs in order to consider them in our decisions.
